My name is Janice Campbell. I am from the Caribbean; specifically Jamaica, which is noted for its white sand beaches, reggae music and tasty cuisine.

My love for Science and Nature took me on a career path to various institutions where I pursued Science Education. First I attended Teachers’ College for three years, then University of the West Indies where I did my undergraduate, Lehman College and Walden University where I pursued my master’s degrees in the same area of specialization.

I have been teaching with the New York City Department of Education for twenty years, eighteen of which is spent at our Bee Hive, Bronx Health Sciences High School. Over the years I have taught living Environment and other science related subjects such as Health Science and Nutrition. Currently, I am teaching Living Environment to grade nine students, which I enjoy doing.

As educators we have the potential to influence change in our students and consequently the wider society, once the right environment is provided to foster growth. My vision is for us to provide the optimum environment for students to thrive not only educationally but mentally and socially. By doing so we encourage our students to believe in themselves, as people that can influence change, critical thinkers, college ready and people who can meet the demand of the twenty-first century.
